Pacific Regional Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS)

Picture
We are a founding member of SPREP's Pacific Regional Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS), and lead the Protect Our Islands theme. Our role is to provide support on biosecurity, with the assistance of our colleagues at SPC, and to provide a liaison point to other experts.

A primary focus is the implementation of Early Detection and Rapid Response capability throughout the Pacific - both to prevent the introduction of populations of new invasive species to countries, and to prevent the domestic spread of these populations. Over the next five years PRISMSS will be working on these and other initiatives with Republic of Marshall Islands, Niue, Tonga and Tuvalu, and Wallis et Futuna
