The INvasive SPecIes management for Resilient Ecosystems and communities (INSPIRE) project focuses on limiting invasive species threats at priority sites and increasing capacity to deliver and sustain invasive species management as a Nature-based Solution (NbS) for environmental, socio-economic, and climate resilience outcomes.
A sub-project has been designed with the goal of integrating invasive species management as a Nature-based Solution (ISM as an NbS) into regional and national policies. The project is supported by the Kiwa initiative and managed by the BirdLife International regional office in Suva, Fiji on behalf of leading civil society organisations in Palau, Fiji, Samoa and French Polynesia. Pacific Biosecurity is working on analyses of opportunities for integrating ISM as an NbS, developing roadmaps for policy development and advocacy support and resources, as well as capability-building. Dee McDonald, a policy expert and biosecurity specialist at Massey University is working with us to deliver the project. |
