Pacific Biosecurity : working together for a resilient Pacific

Welcome to Pacific Biosecurity

Pacific Biosecurity partners with countries, regional agencies, NGOs, and private organisations to manage invasive species across the Pacific islands' region. Our mission is to help protect:
  • cultural heritage,
  • agriculture,
  • marine resources,
  • health and wellbeing,
  • biodiversity, and
  • other vital environmental values.

Supporting resilience in the Pacific

We aim to support strengthened resilience against climate change and other challenges by reducing the threat posed by invasive species—introduced plants, animals and other living things that cause harm.

From ants to ecosystems

Our journey began with a focus on social insects—especially ants. Today, our work spans a broader mission: preventing the arrival, establishment, and spread of invasive species throughout the region.

We continue to support efforts to manage yellow crazy ants. If you're facing issues with these ants, please reach out. We're here to help.

No matter your situation, we’ll do our best to support you directly or connect you with others who can.
